Inside our Parliamentary Day of Action
On 13th May staff and young people from #YouthHomelessChapter organisations across the UK descended upon Westminster for a Day of Action. We made placards, heard speeches and headed down to the Houses of Parliament with our big red book of messages to make sure young people aren’t the missing chapter in the government’s plans to end homelessness. Our big red book was packed with young people’s stories, requests and recommendation for the Deputy Prime Minister and the inter-departmental steering group responsible for writing and delivering the government’s upcoming strategy to end homelessness.
We were delighted to welcome over 50 people, most of whom were young experts by experience to come together in solidarity and make a stand on the housing crisis. 12 MPs joined us to show support for the campaign and speak directly to young people about how they’re advocating for young people with decision makers.

We’re so proud of what we’ve achieved together as a collective but we’re not done! We will be continuing to advocate for a #YouthHomelessChapter until the government strategy is launched and we will continue to advocate for young people to be safe and housed no matter their background. Head to our ‘Learn More’ page to read more about our policy asks and see the practical steps the government could take to meaningfully tackle the youth homelessness crisis.
